Unite Against Dark Portals
Dark Portals spawn constantly across the land. Each Portal Constantly Summons forth new monsters that attack nearby players.
It is up to you and your allies to defend yourselves and destroy the portals, before they grow strong enough to threaten you. Portals that grow strong enough can corrupt Player Villages. Players lose access to any villages that become corrupted. Dark Portals can Corrupt entire Regions. |
Fight Against Other Players
Locations across the world give a daily payout to whomever controls each location. Players are encouraged to fight over these locations.
Players must very carefully balance competition with surviving against the constant threat of the Dark Portals. Players may also attack each other. Villages can be stolen, but never destroyed. If players allow greed to overcome them, they risk losing everything they have invested. |
Summary of Realms of Light

Economic Engine of the GameLight creates more of itself at a rate of 20% per year. Light also creates 20 units of Mana a year per unit of Light. Both forms of interest on this currency is only generated when Light is locked forever into permanent in-game locations that can be stolen but never destroyed. Light will be sold from Light Corp starting at $0.09 USD worth. 200 Light is the minimum amount required to start a new village 1000 Light is the minimum amount required to start a new Territory 1,000,000 Light is required to start a new world. When players upgrade their city center by paying Light and Mana, 75% of that light is locked to the village forever. Producing a residual return of additional Light and Mana to the controller of the location indefinitely. For every 1 light and 10 Mana locked into a players city center 0.15 light and 15 Mana will be distributed to the controller in yearly interest. Max level city centers cost 6,000 light and 60,000 Mana. Players that upgrade their crystal without also paying Light and Mana to upgrade their defensive structures will most likely have their towns stolen from them by other players. It costs 4,000 Light and 143,600 Mana for maximum level buildings in a Player Village. A Maxed level village cost 10,000 Light and 203,600 Mana all together. Mana can be purchased from the Game for 0.10 Light each. Mana can not be traded in between worlds. 1000-10000 Mana per casting village per month will be spent on spells by each powerful player fighting over valued contested locations and player villages. As long as a significant (10% or more) number of players are actively playing the game strategically to acquire other player villages and control of contested locations, the demand for mana will remain significantly higher then the supply. A army of marauding pirates can force entire regions of players to invest into their defenses, rather then lose their villages. |
The World MapThe world map can be seen by anyone via the website. Each village, territory, region, tribe, country, and world has a description written by the current respective controllers or creators. These descriptions can be read by anyone through a pop up window. Embed links allowed. World creators may moderate or disable descriptions (globally and by player). Each world starts with 4 territories that form a square together. Each territory consists of 300 spaces, 40 player owned villages, and 9 contested resource locations. Worlds have no pre-defined shape or size and can grow in any and every direction indefinitely. The 4 initial territories are each a corner of the first 4 Regions. A region consists of 12 Territories. Tribes that control 3 or more regions may form a Country. After a territory has 20 player owned locations within it, the territories next to it open up for purchase. When starting the game, players can choose what territory they wish to join. When a player initiates a purchase for a village or a territory, a 72 hour bidding process occurs wherein any other player may overbid that player. All bidded funds are held in escrow until the sale occurs. Players that start a new territory have a 2 week head-start on every other player joining that territory. Each Territory comes with 1 Great Crystal Node, 3 Crystal Nodes, 2 Sacred Shrines and 2 Adamantium Mountains. The Great Crystal Node holds 50% of the light distributed to that Territory. Its controller gains 100% of the light interest and 80% of the mana interest from the light held by the Great Crystal Node. The other 3 Crystal Nodes hold the other 50% of light distributed to that Territory. Controllers share 100% of the light interest and 60% of the mana interest from the light held by the Crystal Nodes under player control. |
Player VillagesPlayer villages have a series of buildings that can be upgraded with in-game generated resources. These buildings are -Mine. Creates Metal Alloy. -Greenhouses. Increases Population. -3D Production Facility. Creates 3D Parts. -Energy Plant. Increases Energy Capacity. -Forest. Adds Protection from Attackers. -City Center. Creates Light and Mana. Premium Upgrade Costs. -Golem Factory. Creates Golems, Troops of War. -Repair Station. Heals damaged Golems. -Central Intelligence. Allows spying and intelligence collection. -Resource Exchange. Allows for trading of resources. -Arcanium. Allows for casting of Spells. Premium Upgrade Costs. -Crystal Grid Sanctum. Adds a layer of protection to the Village and allied Villages. Premium Upgrade Costs. Maximum level of 30 for most buildings. The Forest and Energy Plant can be upgraded to level 50 with premium resources. Its costs 500 Light and 10,000 mana to bring both Premium buildings to level 40. 1000 light and 20,000 mana to bring both buildings to level 50. Villages take 3 months to develop non premium levels without being accelerated. Premium levels included requires 4 months of development. Costs 5,000 Light and 100,000 mana to fully accelerate a village. 2,000 light and 40,000 mana can be spent to double village building speed, |
CombatCombat is relatively simple. Players may attack other players or contested locations. Players may also send troop reinforcements to other villages or locations. When fighting over a contested location, the most powerful force always wins. Players defending their own villages may gain up to 100% protection while benefiting from a larger than normal defensive force. New Villages start with 2 weeks of protection from all attacks. 8 weeks of protection from attacks from players and player generated portals. When a village is attacked, if all defending troops are destroyed, the remaining attackers damage the cities crystal core shield. Crystal Core Shield health is proportionate to the level of the city center. Once the Core Shield reaches 0 health, the attacker of the village gains control of it. Controlling a contested resource location only requires defeating the troops that are currently protecting the location. Contested locations are protected by half the level of resilience field as the capital of the player controlling the location. Every-day, Dark Portals randomly spawn in every territory. Each Portal sends out one attack a day to the neighboring villages until they are destroyed. Like villages, portals have a core shield health, defenses, and defensive troops. Everyday a portal is left alive, it grows stronger. Portals can take player villages and contested locations. When this happens, the location becomes corrupted. All interest generated is destroyed and the villages sends out increasingly powerful attacks to nearby players like a dark portal until the location is re-claimed by another player. Strength of portals is directly relative to the amount of Light invested into that territory and region. Strength of portals is also effected through the DarkGate spell series. |
